Improved multi-reservoir operation rules of water supply system based on target storage curves

Abstract This paper proposes a multi-reservoir operating policy for water supply by combining target storage curves with the hedging rule. The are derived to solve allocation problem of joint demand. There three steps in proposed methodology: Firstly, optimal release schedule using dynamic programming long-term operation model is established, from which suitable forms identified. Secondly, simulation and optimization built identify key points rule based on aggregated reservoir improved particle swarm (IPSO). Finally, synthetic inflow series used test verify efficiency water-supply system located Liaoning province China employed as case study effect curves. results indicate that handle problem, especially periods drought. also show performance distribution storages.
